Tingira Challenge
THE TINGIRA
​
Shark Island Paddlers annual race, The Tingira, is a highlight on the paddling calendar each year where we look forward to hosting our community of paddlers and competitors from across the city.
​
A long (approx. 16km) and a short (approx. 8km) course are offered, from Tingira Reserve at Rose Bay to Shark Island and northwards to Quarantine Beach on the inside of North head (long course), or as far as Watsons Bay and back for the short course.
​​
Categories include single and double surf skis, kayaks, SUPs and paddleboards, with both trophies and cash prizes on offer.
​
Since 2022, the Tingira has also been one leg of a harbour racing Tri Series.
