COVID-19 safe procedures

This event is to be conducted under Covid-19 Safe Procedures and all competitors are reminded of their obligations as follows:'

  • Do not attend if you display any of the symptoms listed here: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/symptoms-and-testing

  • Do not attend if, within the last 14 days, you have been to Victoria or any of the NSW Case locations listed here: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest- news-and-updates

  • PNSW/Paddle Australia recommend the download and use of the COVIDsafeApp.

  • Maintain a minimum of 1.5m social distancing at all times.

  • No spectators to attend.

  • Only handle your own equipment.

  • Bring and frequently use hand sanitizer.

  • Do not mingle before or after the event.

  • Arrive ready to paddle, and after event pack your gear, change and go.


Race day procedures

This race is conducted at the same location as previous events. Whilst some race day procedures remain the same, some have changed as a result of COVID-19. Please note the following:


  • Competitors are to drop-off their craft and park elsewhere.

  • Do not cross New South Head Road with your craft.

  • Please respect the local residents and keep noise to a minimum.

  • Please note: Do not arrive too early (to minimize crowding). There will be two Check-In lanes operating:

    • Long Course Singles = 06:15 –07:15

    • Short Course, SUPs and Long Course Doubles = 06:30 –07:30.


  • Ensure you have the minimum safety equipment noted under the Rules: All Paddlers must wear a Level 50 Lifejacket and have a paddle leash (will be decided on day if required to be worn). All SUP’s must wear a leg leash

  • You must pass through the two flags on the beach when you enter the water. This is to record your race number and check minimum equipment

  • When you finish you must pass through the finish flags to have a recorded.

  • After the Race, load your craft and leave the venue.

  • There will be no post- Race presentation.
